Contact your local electric company determining if they offer an energy management incentive credit for heat pump, air conditioner, water heater, and also a pool pump. The electric company will have a device installed for those appliances that will allow them to disconnect the power during peak times for the energy to be directed elsewhere for a specified duration. The electric company will provide a credit on your monthly bill for allowing them to turn off certain devices remotely. Circumstances occur in which you can receive the credit, but no power is deactivated. The deactivation simply depends upon the energy needs for your community.
