Contact your local electric company asking for any rebates offered and any low interest loans offered for upgrading or implementing energy saving measures. The improvements can include the purchase of a new A.C. or heat pump, water heater, pool heater, or heat recovery unit along with ductwork improvements and wall, ceiling, and floor insulation improvements.

     Realize some improvements are not very expensive. You may also receive the money back in the form of rebates along with having a reduced electric bill. Don't put off needed repairs or upgrades, you may be throwing money away.
