Do you really need the premium channels offered with your cable TV.

The premium movie channels are only worth the price if you regularly watch enough shows to justify the cost. The cost may be cheaper if you cancel the movie channel(s), then rent a movie at a store. Some stores offer movies for $1 or $2 each compared to $7 - $10 per month for each premium channel. Consider taping movies using a friend's VCR and cable subscription. Be sure to give them a couple of bucks a month if you regularly tape movies as compensation for use. The cost will be cheaper than renting and paying a monthly fee yourself along with providing your friend with the opportunity to lower their monthly expenses.

Consider subscribing to an unlimited monthly movie rental contract offered by Blockbuster® or Netflix.com®. The savings will be tremendous if you rent more than about 5 or 6 movies a month.

Also, pay per view is convenient, but it is typically more expensive than renting a movie at a store. You must decide what is more economical for you.
