Saving on damaged/out-dated products or floor displays.

“Scratch and Dent” or “Clearance” sales offer discounts as opposed to paying full price. An item on display legally cannot be sold for full price, therefore a discount must be offered. Items in stock that have been slightly damaged or dented are also offered at a discount. Every year new models for products are released, but stores may still have the older model in stock for which they want to sell.

Items such as clothes and furniture can be purchased at a discount if they are slightly damaged. Check for obvious, hard to see, or even hidden damage on the product. If you notice damage, then request the price of the product to be discounted.

Ask a sales representative or the manager if any damaged/outdated models are available to be sold and/or ask if the floor demo can be purchased. The items will be sold at a discount that can be negotiated through the manager who wants to recoup the expenses for a hard to sell or undesirable product. The items may still have the full manufacturers warranty in effect or they may not, ASK!!

CAUTION:: Some damaged or floor demo products may be missing some accessories, such as: the box with the packing material, manuals, remotes, wires, and/or attachments. The missing items are a by-product of receiving the discount. You will have to determine if the price/hassle of replacing the missing parts is worth the discount.
