Saving money at a Florist.

A great way to save money at a Florist is with the flower delivery cost. Deliver the flowers yourself or have a friend deliver the flowers for you. Not only can you save money, but now you also have the opportunity to deliver them with a twist/surprise specific to the occasion. Wear something special for the occasion and create an original presentation. The person receiving the flowers will appreciate the personal touch.

Another way to save is to design the floral arrangement yourself for simple arrangements leaving the elaborate arrangements for the professionals. An example is to purchase a dozen roses ("cash and carry") bundled together along with the leaves, baby breaths, and a vase to arrange them yourself for a large savings. Granted the professionals should do a better job arranging the flowers, but you can probably put forth a suitable effort on your own. The idea is very useful for last minute floral needs, such as: the day before/day of Valentine's Day and Mother's Day because the flowers will most likely not be able to be delivered that day due to the high volume of requests which exceeds many company's capabilities.

The "cash-and-carry" special is a dozen roses bound together. Simply pay cash and then carry the dozen roses out the door without any special frills.

Also, be aware that some Florist numbers in the local phone book route the call to another state requiring you to deal with a middleman for a florist you thought was local. Don't be charged an extra fee for using the middleman. Rely on advertisements for Florists in the yellow pages with a partial page ad, not the white pages. Also, question the representative verifying their location and validity. The middleman will simply place an order with a local Florist, pocketing an extra fee for them.
