Saving money when purchasing fountain drinks without receiving less refreshment.

Order soft drinks without ice. Businesses will typically fill a cup to the top with ice giving you less soda. The reason is because the cost of the ice is cheaper than the soda and the extra ice will allow the supply of soda to last longer. The lesser amount of soda will leave you thirsty or with a watered down drink. The equipment lines from the soda canisters to the dispenser typically run through a bin containing ice, thus the drink will already be cold. Therefore, ordering the drink without ice yields much more of the soft drink, which will already be cold, allowing you to satisfy your thirst better.

Instead of purchasing several individual small drinks, purchase a large drink and ask for some small cups. Use the small cups to divide the soda. The largest size will typically cost less than two of the smallest sizes, but provide four times as much liquid.

Purchase the smallest soft drink size if complimentary refills are offered. There is no need to pay extra for a larger cup to receive the same amount of liquid.
