Saving money on ATM fees.

Don’t pay ATM fees; you are throwing away your money. ATM fees are a service offering a convenience at a price. Calculate the total ATM fees spent each month because you may be shocked! Save on ATM fees by using the fee-free ATM machines directly linked to your bank. Ask your bank for locations that are fee-free. Ensure enough money is withdrawn to meet your needs for a period of time. Don’t keep all the money in your wallet; instead store it in a safe place at home. When the funds at home are running low, then return to the bank to withdraw more money. Withdrawing the greater amount from the ATM reduces the number of ATM transactions, saving you money.

Purchase items from any point of sale (POS) store, such as a grocery store or merchandise store, allowing you the ability to use a debit card or a personal check. The stores may allow you to withdraw or write a check for more than the purchase to receive cash back at no extra charge. The cash received will then seem like an ATM transaction.

Utilize your credit card(s) more often, reducing the need to carry cash. Ensure you do not overspend and ensure you pay the credit card balance each month.

If you are concerned about the loss of interest each month by removing extra money than immediately necessary, then compare the ATM costs to the interest received. The benefits will become obvious; ATM fees will be more costly!
